Regional Emblem

The Regional Emblem of Deli Serdang Regency takes the form of an oval shield with a ribbon reading DELI SERDANG and the motto BHINEKA PERKASA JAYA along the bottom.

Elements of the emblem

• The five-pointed star at the crest of the shield represents Belief in the One and Only God and the state ideology, Pancasila.
• The sprays of rice and cotton framing the shield represent prosperity — sufficient food and clothing for the people.
• The fish and tobacco leaves represent the fisheries wealth and the plantation heritage that form the backbone of the regional economy.
• The mountain and rippling water represent the landscape of Deli Serdang, reaching from the upstream hills to the waters of the Malacca Strait, lit by a sun that stands for hope.
• The cogwheel represents the industrial sector and the working spirit of the people.
• The motto Bhineka Perkasa Jaya affirms the diversity of Deli Serdang's people — united, resilient, and forward-looking.

The landscape depicted on the emblem — mountain, water, plants, and fish — is itself a reminder of the duty of the Environmental Agency of Deli Serdang Regency to keep all of it intact.
