Complaints

  • How do I report environmental pollution?

    Complaints can be filed through the SIKAP-LH application, in person at the office during service hours, or by official email. Include the location in as much detail as possible (village or ward and sub-district), the time it happened, and photo evidence if you have any.

  • How long until my complaint is acted on?

    Every complaint is recorded and verified first, then handled by the Environmental Compliance and Capacity Division. How long it takes depends on the type and severity of the impact; progress can be tracked with the ticket number in the SIKAP-LH application.

General

  • What are the office service hours?

    Monday to Thursday 08.00–16.00 WIB and Friday 08.00–16.30 WIB. Outside those hours, complaints can still be filed online and will be processed on the next working day.

  • How do I request data or public information?

    File a written request at the office or by official email, stating your identity, the information you need, and what it will be used for. The full procedure is on the Public Information page.

Permits

  • Which environmental document do I need?

    It depends on how large the impact is: an EIA for significant impact, UKL-UPL for non-significant impact, and SPPL for small-scale businesses. Please consult the office to confirm which document fits before preparing it.

  • Is there a fee for environmental approval?

    Any fee or tariff for each service is stated in the applicable Service Standards. If payment is requested outside those terms, please report it through the complaints channel.

Waste

  • How do I sort waste at home?

    Separate it into three: organic (food scraps and leaves) for composting, sellable recyclables (plastic, paper, metal, glass) to deposit at a waste bank, and residue for the official collection point.

  • How do we set up a waste bank in our neighbourhood?

    A waste bank can be started by a community group, youth organisation, or village administration. The Environmental Agency of Deli Serdang Regency provides mentoring and training. Please contact the office to begin.
